Summing up the mid-term elections

It should be taken as an axiom of political life that if your argument is about the other side’s advertisements, you’re losing. If your argument is about who’s funding the other side’s advertisements, you’re losing badly. And if your argument is about how foreigners might — lack of evidence notwithstanding — be secretly funneling cash into the other side’s advertisements, you’re losing in a historic landslide.

...Suffice it to say that with the prospect of a November drubbing in the offing, the Obama Democrats are doing all they can to demonstrate they deserve it.

Conversations with the Candidates

My wife and I are happy to host another opportunity for you all to meet the candidates for the 45th Legislative District. (In our home on Tuesday evening, October 5th.) My philosophy in doing this is pure grass-roots activism - rather than having you find an event to meet each candidate I am bringing them to you. We are hoping to create the most inviting environment for you to get to know the fine gentlemen running to be your representitives in Olympia.

While the media presents plenty of information (biased as it may be) regarding the national scene, there is little information readily available regarding our most local representatives. In this year of the TEA PARTY and strong advocates for smaller government, one key component is returning rights to the states. That means the men & women in Olympia will have an even larger influence on the issues we feel the most. And by all accounts, Olympia shares the same big government, big spending, high tax, large entitlement mentality as the Obama administration.

Please come and pledge your support to the candidates. Get to know them, they are about to become your elected officials from the 45th Legislative District.

Look to the links on the upper left of this page to find the announcement for "Conversations with the Candidates" event. We are looking forward to seeing you there.

MEET THE CANDIDATES

Wine & Cheese with 45th District Candidates...

My wife Karen and I are proud to be hosting an intimate gathering of friends and neighbors from Weeks and adjacent precincts this Thursday evening, August 12th. Join us for a glass of wine, a bite of cheese, and the occasion to speak with and hear from the candidates for the 45th District.

Everyone is welcome -- please come and pledge your support in any way you can.

The 45th Legislative District leans strongly to the right, yet we are represented in Olympia by three Democrats - and all three voted yes to every tax increase to reach the floor. Your support for our Republican candidates will bring common sense and fiscal restraint to the State House & Senate. These honorable gentlemen have chosen to run as your representatives in Olympia, so here's your opportunity to meet them in person.

When:
Thursday evening, August 12th, 6:30pm

Where:
Bob & Karen Vineyard's
5707 238th Place NE
Redmond, 98053
(425) 898-0184
